A robot for every child – Ministry of education project recommendation

It meets the requirements of the program and even beyond and will allow the dissemination of the program at the national level.
As a physics professor, I see a national interest in implementing the program on a large scale.

Letter of recommendation for the "Robophysics" project

I would like to commend the “Robophysics” project – a curriculum that combines science and engineering. The program encompasses 2 matriculation study units out of the 5 matriculation study units in physics. Its uniqueness is an interdisciplinary combination of physics and mathematics studies at the high school level and the principles of engineering while enriching the learning experience through robotics. My involvement in this program is significant: I follow the program closely, serve as chairman of its steering committee, and invest every year resources to assimilate it among physics teachers in Israel. The distribution of the program to many schools seeking to implement it, thereby reducing the number of students exposed to the program.

Ofer Danino, the program’s founder, is aware of this limitation. Recently, offered to produce a significantly cheaper robotic kit as part of the “Robot for Every Child” project. The kit, which costs about NIS 400, is based on the use of the existing sensor system in each smartphone. It meets the requirements of the program and even beyond and will allow the dissemination of the program at the national level.
As a physics professor, I see a national interest in implementing the program on a large scale. In my opinion, it can increase the motivation and ability of students and bring them to the choice of physics studies at the level of 5 units. 5 units in mathematics.

Therefore, I highly recommend the “Robot for Every Child” project and hope that the national-educational consideration and its contribution to the talented students in the State of Israel will be taken into account. In my humble opinion, its importance is great even if it does not meet additional criteria, such as exports.
