Dr. Joseph Shapira
Chairman
Dr. Joseph Shapira is a visionary engineering leader, entrepreneur, and educator. He was awarded the Bergman prize and the IEEE fellowship for contributions to EM engineering and technology. He created and led the EM Lab in Rafael and educated engineers nationwide.
He led model-changing research programs on wireless communication links in Bell Labs, and then in Qualcomm, contributing to the development of the CDMA cellular technology. Then founded Qualcomm Israel, and then Celletra, and Comm&Sens, pursuing development and optimization of 3G cellular networks. He was VP of the International Union for Radio Science URSI, leading international research, and science policy on spectrum utilization. His numerous papers, patents and reports accrued over 1200 citations. He was twice awarded Best paper, by IEEE and IETE. The last decade he devotes to reforming STEM education, to address the evolving challenges.
Prof. Moshe Shoham
Advisory Board
CTO/Co-Founder, Mazor Robotics Ltd. Mazor develops and markets surgical robots and complementing products. The Company offers a specially designed surgical robotic system that enables surgeons to conduct safer and more accurate spine surgery. Medtronic purchased Mazor Robotics for $1.6 billion, while he is looking forward to more robots and startups.
Prof. Adam Shwarts
Advisory Board
Prof. Adam Shwartz was until recently the senior vice president of the Technion. Prof. Shwartz’s research focuses on random processes, and their applications in computer network optimization. In addition, Prof. Schwartz served as Dean of the Technion’s Faculty of Electrical Engineering, and served on the Executive Committee of the Technion-Cornell Institute (Jacobs) in New York.
Ofer Danino
Founder and President
Ofer is a high-tech entrepreneur who developed Robophysics – an educational methodology for teaching science and engineering to high-school students by combining robotics and other advanced technologies. Mr. Danino serves as a senior lecturer and supervisor of student projects at the Technion’s Faculty of Electrical Engineering. Mr. Danino holds a B.sc and M.sc in Education & Electrical Engineering from the Technion.
Itamar Feldman
Head of Teachers Training
B.Sc in Computer Engineering from HUJI, 11 years working for Intel Israel, working with children K-12 with Science & Technologies for the last 6 years. Part of the Robophysics team of teachers for creating our front-line engineers’ students.
Dr. Gideon (Gidi) Kaplan
Lead Instructor
An Electronic Engineer and a Teacher, with a Ph.D. from the Technion (1993), and a graduate of the Mandel Institute for Educational Leadership (2011).
An Entrepreneur and Director in high-tech, co-founders of Gilat Satellite Networks, an Israeli public company, where he worked for about 16 years as a V.P of Technology and R&D.
Head of Business Development and Marketing
Michael has over 20 years of experience in business development, international marketing, and sales in the digital health and medical markets. Mr. Kasan established and managed business relationships with pharma, medical, and leading companies worldwide, and managed and supported distribution and sales channels. Mr. Kasan has an MBA from Tel Aviv University, Israel.
Nir Segal
Physics & Robophysics Teacher
Physics & Robophysics teacher, M.sc with a thesis in science teaching, master in MBA, B.sc in Industrial Engineering and Management, graduate of the TechnionDeveloped management systems in factories and companies in Israel and at AHP Systems in the United States, developed military systems in Rada, Rafael, Elisra, and Elta and managed systems testing projects at Tescom.
Ashraf Kattoura
Head of Software Development
Graduate of Technion and has a B.sc degree in Electrical Engineering. Lead developer and a team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
